Put The Lever Down

Put The Lever Down is one of the most extraordinary electric harmonica recordings ever made: an instrumental featuring multiple overdubbed harmonicas (including specially tuned diatonics and Chordomonica) on top of a funky groove, with some of the wildest blowing you've ever heard. "Over a funky groove, Hunter simply shows off. And man, he can do it. I've never heard anything like this in my life." (Richard Cromonic, Sweet Potato )

Put The Lever Down was released in 1982 on Arf Arf Records as the B side of a 45 RPM single. The A side, Play With Me, was forgettable pop with plenty of hot electric harmonica work (and lyrics that we'd all rather forget). It's okay, especially if you're into harp, but Put The Lever Down is the one to keep.
